Bentonite

Bentonite is a chemically decomposed volcanic clay which consists mainly of colloidal silisyum in the form of Montmorillonit group of minerals. It is soft, easily shaped and has a wide variety of applications in industry. Although not limited to, it can be used in below applications :




  • Binder for casting sand for improving moldability and cohesive strength




  • Adjusting viscosity of drilling mud




  • Peletizing iron ore fines- Additive for preventing water leakage in construction such as dams




  • Adding clarity to beverages (wine, beer, fruit juice, etc.)




  • As filler material in medicine and paper industries




  • Additive for cement and ceramic production




  • Additive for paint and fire retardants




  • Cleaning of waste water
